Frequently Asked Questions

Terrain Machinery specializes in quality pre-owned construction and heavy equipment for contractors, businesses, fleet operators, and independent owners across the United States.

Our inventory includes compact track loaders, skid steers, excavators, wheel loaders, backhoes, forklifts, tractors, and other jobsite equipment. We carry machines from established manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Bobcat, John Deere, Kubota, Volvo, New Holland, and other leading brands.

Our inventory changes regularly as machines are sold and new equipment arrives. Each unit is evaluated before being offered for sale, and available inspection and service information can be provided to help customers make an informed purchase.

We understand that purchasing heavy equipment is a significant investment, especially when the machine is being purchased from another state.

Eligible equipment purchased from Terrain Machinery is backed by our 14-Day Satisfaction Guarantee, giving you additional confidence when purchasing a machine from us.

The 14-day period allows you to receive the equipment, inspect it, and make sure the machine meets the expectations established at the time of purchase.

Our team can explain the applicable guarantee terms before the sale so you understand the coverage, conditions, and return process before completing your purchase.

If an eligible machine does not meet the agreed expectations, contact Terrain Machinery within the applicable 14-day period.

Our team will review the situation with you and explain the available options based on the terms of your purchase. Depending on the circumstances and applicable guarantee terms, this may include arranging a return or discussing another machine from our available inventory.

If transportation is required, our team can also coordinate the logistics involved in returning the equipment.

We aim to keep the process organized and straightforward from the initial purchase through any post-sale assistance you may need.

Terrain Machinery can arrange transportation for equipment purchased from our dealership.

The type of trailer used depends on the machine’s dimensions, operating weight, configuration, and destination. Our logistics team works with commercial equipment haulers to determine an appropriate transportation setup for each shipment.

Common transportation options include RGN trailers for larger or oversized equipment, step deck trailers for taller machines requiring additional clearance, and flatbed trailers for many compact and standard-size machines and attachments.

We coordinate the transportation details with the carrier so customers do not have to arrange heavy-equipment freight on their own.

Yes. Terrain Machinery can coordinate equipment transportation to customers throughout the continental United States.

We work with commercial heavy-equipment carriers to arrange delivery directly to your business, equipment yard, job site, or another suitable delivery location.

Whether you are purchasing a compact track loader, skid steer, excavator, or larger piece of construction equipment, our team can help determine the appropriate transportation method and provide a shipping quote based on your destination.

For a quote, simply provide the delivery ZIP code and the machine you are interested in.

Every equipment shipment is different, so transportation costs are calculated individually rather than using a flat shipping rate.

The main factors include the machine’s overall dimensions, operating weight, total delivery distance, trailer requirements, and any permits or special transportation requirements that may apply to oversized equipment.

Provide us with your ZIP code and the machine you’re considering, and our team can prepare a shipping quote for your location.

Yes. Available inspection documentation can be provided for the machine you are considering. Our technicians inspect equipment before it is offered for sale, and our team can review the findings with you and answer questions about the machine’s condition.

In many cases, a machine can be placed on hold with an approved partial payment and agreed reservation terms.

Because our inventory is actively marketed and changes frequently, reservation availability and hold periods may vary by machine. Our manager can explain the current options and confirm the terms before a reservation is placed.

Unloading arrangements depend on the carrier, trailer type, machine, and delivery location. For many equipment deliveries, the transport setup can accommodate unloading assistance or self-unloading when appropriate.

Our team will review the delivery requirements with you in advance so the proper transportation arrangement can be coordinated for your location.

Delivery time depends on the destination, carrier availability, route, equipment size, and any special transportation requirements.
